Dato’ Hj Zainuddin bin Hj Mohd Radzi

Dato’ Hj Ir. Zainuddin graduated in 1966 from Brighton Technical College, United Kingdom with a Degree in Bachelor of Science. After stints with Lembaga Letrik Negara (now Tenaga Nasional Berhad) and as a consultant in a partnership, he branched out on his own to set up Zainuddin Radzi dan Rakan-Rakan. Started in 1978, the company offers a complete range of engineering consultancy services and through the years built a reputation for professionalism and dependability in the fields of Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Structural Engineering.

In 1985, to pursue his vision of establishing a presence in the development sector, Dato’ Zainuddin set up Selborn Holdings Sdn Bhd. His diligent efforts was paid off well as the company successfully bid for and obtained project development contracts.

Then in 1988, he expanded on his vision and set up Swasta Setia Holdings Sdn Bhd, laying the groundwork for what has today evolved into the Swasta Setia group of companies. Some of the projects handled by the group are : Kundang Mixed Development Project, Selborn Perdana, Selbourne Square and Bandar Seberang Jaya.

Following the success of Zainuddin Radzi dan Rakan-Rakan, Dato’ Zainuddin introduced a new era in the history of the company by joining forces with an American engineering consultancy firm to form Zainuddin Parsons Brinckerhoff in 1994. Together with the American firm’s own track record and Dato’ Zainuddin’s standing as a Registered Professional Engineer (Malaysia), a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Malaysia (IEM) and a First Grade Supervisory Engineer, the joint-venture was a solid vehicle that was instrumental in securing specialised and major contracts as well as projects. As a testament to its renowned capabilities, the company is currently involved in the massive KL Sentral project.

Further to this, Dato’ Zainuddin’s expertise and insights into business development and investments are also available to other companies whose Board of Directors he sits on namely Yayasan Selangor, KDE Recreation Berhad and Kosas Credit Sdn Bhd and Zainuddin Radzi dan Rakan-Rakan. Major Mohd Ramli bin Othman

Major (R) Mohd Ramli Bin Othman graduated from Pakistan Military Academy in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He was later commissioned into the Royal Malay Regiment and served in the Malaysian Armed Forces for several years.

Starting from humble beginnings, his career began as a Platoon Commander in the Royal Malay Regiment from 1977 to 1980 by managing, commanding and training troops. Then in 1980, he moved up to become the Administrative Officer of the Army Training Centre, whereby he was responsible for the daily administration and personal management of the Army Training Centre. This included designing the training programmes, managing the finances and handling public relations for the centre.

He went on to read law in 1984 and graduated as a top law student from UiTM in 1990. Further to this, he served the Military Legal Service and held various posts in the Malaysian Armed Forces culminating in the post of Special Adviser (Military Assistant) to the Chief of Staff of the Malaysian Armed Forces.

He applied for transfer of service from the Armed Forces to the Malaysian Legal and Judicial Service in 1991 and thereafter was appointed as the Federal Counsel for the Advisory and International Law Division (AG Chambers). There he held various positions which included working as the Deputy Public Prosecutor for Commercial Crime (AG Chambers) and being the Legal Adviser to the Prime Minister’s Department.

His appointment and involvement as the Federal Counsel for the Advisory and International Law Division in the Attorney General’s Chambers from 1995 to 1999 saw him providing legal advice to the ministries and other government agencies. Here, he was also responsible for the Privatisation Master Plan when he was assigned as a member of the Privatisation Unit of the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) for the Prime Minister’s Department. Not only that, his other duties also involved special assignments to the Ministries of Health and Information on privatisation programmes. Furthermore, his post as a Federal Counsel meant that he was also entrusted to draft laws, amendment bills, agreement contracts and other legal documents as well as to vet through agreements and memorandum of understanding and evaluate the private sector’s privatisation proposals.

His involvement in privatisation projects include:-

  • Redevelopment of the Tampoi hospital in Johor.
  • Corporations of the National Heart Institute.
  • Privatization of the hospital services of Government General Hospitals.
  • Setting up of TV 4 Networks.
  • Setting up of the KL Telecommunication Tower.
  • Setting up of Subscription News Service System.
  • Privatisation of the construction of the Headquarters Building for the Ministry of Works.
  • Privatization of the National Sewerage Systems, Johor Port and the Printing Department of DBP.

On international matters, he represented the Government of Malaysia in multi-lateral negotiations in the area of international relations, human resource management, extradition and common boundaries including EEZ and FEZ. Moreover, he also served as the Legal Adviser and Committee of the Asian African Legal Consultative Committee as well as the Legal Adviser to the Asian Heads of Parliament Organisation.

Between 1991 to 1995, working in the Attorney General’s Chambers, he acted as the Deputy Public Prosecutor of the Commercial Crime Division which includes the handling of criminal prosecution in courts involving Criminal Breach of Trusts (CBT), Securities Industries Fraud and  thefts and wrongful acts by company directors and managers under the Companies and EPF Acts.

After retiring from having served in the civil service for more than 25 years, Major (R) Mohd Ramli carried with him a world of expertise and a vast knowledge in legal matters to head the Legal and Corporate Services Department of Lembaga Tabung Haji and its Group of Companies in 1999. He is currently the Head of Legal and Corporate Services Department, advising the Rt. Hon. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department on all legal matters and other matters connected therewith and incidental to TH and its group of companies. Further to this, he is also advising the Group Managing Director, CEO, Heads of Departments and CEOs of subsidiaries on all matters of legal concern including merger and restructuring exercise of TH wholly subsidiaries.

Ir. Noordin Sulaiman

Ir. Noordin graduated from Brighton College of Technology in the United Kingdom, and came home to begin his engineering career with Lembaga Letrik Negara in 1986. Here he stayed on until 1974, picking up valuable experience in infrastructure projects before switching to the private sector, joining Chematics Mega Sdn Bhd as an Engineering Manager. Within two years there, he was promoted to the illustrious post of General Manager and subsequently sought out by Serply Sdn Bhd in 1977 to be their General Manager. There he guided the company into much success until 1979 before leaving for Pergas Engineering Services Sdn Bhd to spread his magic touch as their Managing Director.

Ir. Noordin continued his career ascend when he joined the Board of Sunor Sdn Bhd as its Director in 1981 and later in 1989 as the Board of Director in SSHSB. Not surprisingly, he also sits on the board of SSH related companies and other private limited companies.

Today, his years of experience and valuable insights are actively channeled into fulfilling the company’s project management and operational needs.

Dato’ Abdul Halim bin Dato’ Haji Abdul Rauf, P.S.D., D.P.M.S., K.M.N

Dato’ Abdul Halim graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Malaya, has a Certificate in Management Analysis from the Prime Minister’s Department and earned a Masters in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburg, U. S. A. These combined with a distinguished, 36 year career in the Malaysian civil service has made Dato’ Abdul Halim the best candidate, who has both the qualifications and experience to lead.

In all of his years working, Dato’ Abdul Halim has carved quite an envious reputation for himself, rising from just a post in the district administration to become a top official in several departments and agencies. Amongst the key positions he held were those of Deputy-Director (Bureau of Research and Consultancy in the National Institute of Public Administration Malaysia), Deputy Director-General (Immigration Department Malaysia), State Secretary (State Government of Selangor) and Senior Deputy Secretary-General (Prime Minister’s Department).

He retired from civil service in 1993 and not long after that was appointed by the Government as the Chairman of the Education Service Commission Malaysia where he served for 5 years.

Currently, he is the Chairman of MIDF Consultancy Corporate Services Sdn Bhd as well as the Chairman of Kontena National Global Logistics Sdn Bhd. He is also the Director of A & M Realty Berhad and Swasta Setia Holdings Sdn Bhd.

Puan Norul Huda Mohd Sidek, M.I.P.

Upon graduating from UTM in 1984, Puan Norul Huda started her career as a Town Planning Officer before joining Lembaga Tabung Haji as an Administrative Officer in November 1985. Not one to rest on her laurels, she subsequently earned her MBA from the Asian Institute of Management and currently holds the post of General Manager of Property Development in the Investment Department. As further proof of her experience and expertise, she is also a Corporate Member of the Malaysian Institute of Planners.

En Shazan Kamal bin Zainuddin

Encik Shazan Kamal bin Zainuddin, graduated from Curtin University of Technology of Perth, Western Australia in 2006 with a Master Degree in Information Management majoring in Logistics and IT Management.  He also holds a Bachelors Degree of Commerce majoring in International Business which he obtained from Murdoch University, Perth at Western Australia.

He started his career as the Creative Director in Delirium Promotions, Western Australia’s premier electronic music event promoter from 2001 to 2005 by being responsible for organizing electronic music festivals, event planning and promotions.  He was also responsible for the strategy development and electronic advertising initiatives.

Currently Encik Shazan is the Executive Director of OMP Entertainment, a multi focused entertainment company incorporated in 2007 with the objective of presenting regular music events and annual festivals for showcasing world-class local and international musical talent.

Other than joining the Board of SSHSB as a Director, he also sits on the board of Semolim Sdn Bhd related companies and of other private limited companies.  His years of experience and insights are now actively chanelled into fulfilling the Company’s project management and operational needs.
